Ask our team→How long does a trademark registration last?
Ten years from the filing date, renewable every ten years, under the Trademark Ordinance, 2001.
Do I need one application per class?
Yes. Separate applications are filed for each class under the international classification of goods and services.
How long does patent protection last?
Twenty years from filing, subject to annual renewal payments. After expiry the invention enters the public domain.
How long does copyright last?
According to the firm content, the author’s lifetime plus 50 years in Pakistan. The term for a specific work should be confirmed.
And industrial designs?
Initially ten years from registration, with a five-year extension through renewal.
